The local Pittsburgh news stations have reported that a guy saw a cougar walking down an alley in Carrick. The guy was on camera and swears it was a Mt. lion walkin down the well populated city alley.

I figure it prolly was one that fell out of the game commissions Mt. Lion stock truck.

I was sittin in my chair the other night, workin on my 3rd crown 'n ginger when I saw that stock truck pull up about 200 yards away. So, I quickly grabbed by digital camera to get the evidence I needed to post right here on the web. Well, wouldn't you know, just when I was ready to snap the picture, Bigfoot stepped right in front of my camera and runined the whole photo. That egg-smellin creature made the focus all blurry 'n stuff. So bad that it just looked like a picture of a black fuzzy rug.

Of course, the stock truck let go at least 2 cats. I know 'cause my garbage was all torn up the next morning.

I think the Game Commission is gonna propose a secret stock truck stamp for $3 that you have to buy next year with your license. They won't tell you what it's for. That's why it's a secret.

Oh, here comes my wife with that 4th crown 'n 'ale.

I know you are just trying to be funny.  But there is Mountail Lions - Panthers in Pennsylvania.

They are putting in a Bridge - from what I am told in a area called Shawville PA.

It's north of Clearfield and the road goes to the Shawville Power Plant.

At one time the road went up a hill and then snaked down to the bottom of a ravine and then back up the other side.

You couldn't go more than 15 miles a hour through the curves - that is why they are putting in a bridge and eliminating the old road.

But I was traveling down the old road one Saturday night about 7 PM in November with my girlfriend and she was 16 years old at the time and neither of us drank and we saw a Mountain Lion at the bottom of the ravine.

I will put it to you this way.  I have hunted bears for over 25 years and was never scared to be in the woods at night.

After I saw this Mountain Lion, I locked the doors on my car - while driving down the road.

It was about waiste high - 3' and was about 5' long and was black and had a long tail.

Definately not a bobcat and definately not a house cat.

It was walking on a log and jumpped into the woods and I never saw it again.

Anyone that has been down there or hunted down there will tell you that it is in the middle of no where.  Very deep woods.

I find it curious that out west lions are VERY RARELY seen.  Most people live their life in lion country and never see one.  The only thing you see is their tracks in dirt and snow, scat piles covered up under the trees, and an abundance of deer kills found with their noses bit off and the carcass pulled up under the trees and slightly buried.  But here in Pa. no one ever finds any of the above evidence, they just see the actual animal with no evidence of its actual existence.

Yes....big cats and bigfoot. I think we have better eye care plans in this part of the country.

Wild cats aren't exactly sociable animals.  Seeing one, even in 'cat country' is a treat.  Tundragriz raises an excellent point.  Why are ONLY the animals seen?

While I believe that the north mountains of PA are capable of holding a small population of Mountain Lions, they will forever be extremely scarce.  What cats MAY exist in the east are most likely accidental escapes and illegal releases of illegal pets. 

I have seen several game cam pictures from PA that the owner claimed up and down that it was a lion, but I have never seen conclusive evidence of lions in PA, however, have talked to experienced people who CLAIM to have seen sign.

You see, our eye care plans are so good, they even cover the large cats and bigfoot. So, the large cats and bigfoot actually see the trailcams before the trailcams can take their pictures.
