Just a thought about powder companys
« on: February 27, 2007, 06:48:24 AM »
Wouldn't it be nice if the powder co. would put all their Warnings in one spot either in the front of their manuals or on one page of their web site . Like do not use fillers for 45/70 loads with Titegroup or do not reduce this charge by more than 2% , things like this .

It gets kind of flustrating to try to remember were you saw something that is that inportant .

Just a small rant .  ::)

Not just the powder companies. They need to do a better job in reloading manuals, too. I just bought a Savage 99 in 250, which has the 1 in 14" twist. Some manuals use a 1 in 10" test gun and never mention that some loads won't work in the older guns. Nosler just flatly states that none of their .257 bullets will work in a 14" twist - hows that for covering your butt!

I wish they would market a "sampler" pack......eight popular powders in 4 ounce packages.......

Or, forget the sampler pack....how about just 4 ounce packaging.....sure would make load development more cost effective for a poor fellow like me.........

Lots of times I'd like to try out a powder, but don't because if it doesn't work I'm stuck with high priced plant food......

Yes, it would be nice to have all of the recalls and warnings prominately displayed in the same area.

I have also found that given enough time I'll eventially find a good use for just about every powder.  Right now, I'm loading some H375 (no, that's not a typo!) that was obsolete when Speer #7 was published.  It's working fine in .223 loads that will consume that pound if I wait long enough.  ;D

Hodgdon did and it went over like a brick, no one bought them and they just set on the shelf. Never made enough to pay for the packaging. Just keep it on hand for a while, you'll likely find someone else that would like to use it or get a caliber later on that you can use it in.
