change to bisley gripframe
« on: February 27, 2007, 02:09:15 PM »
I have a 7.5" Bisley and would like to convert a 4 5/8" SBH to the same (similar) grip shape.
Has anyone done this? I think a bbl swap/shortening on a new Bisley would be much more costly.
Thoughts? ???

Just buy the new Bisley parts (gripframe, grips, trigger, hammer) and chnge them over.  Pretty easy to do.  The griprame may require a bit of fitting to get the sides flush with the cylinder frame but not a hard task.   If it's to be blued, you'd need to get it refinished afterwards, stainless just a polish to match the gun's finish.   Not a hard thing to do at all.  Brownell's has the parts for sale (except the stainless grip frame) and Ruger will sell the gripframes.  Get the grips from ebay.

Thanks for the help. Sounds do-able enough. Be safe.
