Sorry but I really don't see it as an issue. Glock is an Austrian company, they are not a US company. They do not need our approval to sell to whomever they wish so no laws are broken. While we might not like Iran (I don't) their police have just as much right and need to handguns as do those of any other nation. Glock is the primary police firearm world wide. So what's the big deal?

???I wasn't going to battle.  I just saw the thread and thought other Glock people might be interested.  I did not have ANY specific motive for the post.  It was just for info only.  "Keep your powder dry and watch your top knot"

Iraq or Iran either way their police departments have a right to be properly armed and I see nothing wrong with Glock selling to them.

I kind of agree about the Glock, a handgun is just another weapon.  But I read that, I think it was Steyr, was selling Iran their highly accurate sniper rifles.  And they are ending up in Iraq.
That kind of sounds a little too personal.
I don't believe I care for that much, seeing that anyone in their right mind must think that there is a high degree of probability that Iran will begin WW3.
In fact I don't think that I care much for anyone selling anything to Iran.  Iran is by far the foulest, most dangerous country out there.

If just one of our boys gets wounded by their action I would consider it a belligerant act.  I am a 2rd gen. Italian-American and I consider each one of them as part of my family and would deal with it accordingly.  We should all look at it in those terms.
I am not a fan of the Iraq war but the one thing that Mr. Bush said after 911 that I support is that in this conflict if you are not with us, then you are against us.  No grey area.  Money does not mean that much to me.  They should be ashamed of themselves after all we have done for those europeans.

It was Steyr-Mannlicher, and they sold the Iranian counter-narcotics police force a batch of .50 BMG precision rifles (ostensibly for use against Afghan Opium smugglers).  Steyr-Mannlicher has posted a statement re: this issue on their website, if anybody cares to Google it.

If it's not a big deal, why is there this much discussion on a deleted thread?

The poster deleted his original comments after finding out it was really IraQ not IraN that the story was about. Why so many comments? Cuz folks just gotta express an opinion on anything that says Iran on it.

I guess that means me also, cuz when it comes to Iran, I'm agin 'em.

A favorite toast used by the officers in Napoleon's army was " Confusion to our enemies"

 >:(   I wish them that, and the worst of luck.

If it were true, I'd be concerned. Iraq supports terror. That said, I have a feeling purchasing a handgun in Iraq or Iran is easier than here:New York. Did I say that?
