walked out with a uberti 45 lc last night
« on: March 01, 2007, 03:09:01 AM »
I just purchesed a uderti 45 lc in the millenium model. For 270$ i couldn't help myself. I really like the feel of it. I grips are a little small like the blackhawks but they feel better then the blackhawks. I pistol really feels good in hand. it has the 4 3/4 barrel ( i was looking for a short barrel) and i like the fact that it is 45 cal and still smaller then my 357 blackhawk. as far as expectations on accuracy i have none. this will be my fun point and shoot pistol. the only thing was am not found of right now is the firing pin set up. Other then that the fit, feel, and finish i think is great for the price. i really like that pat. in sept 19 1871, pat. july 2 1872 stamped in the fram. just one of those little things that count. now all i have to do if find a good starting load. cast or jacked, which to start with.

I got a Uberti Cattleman about a month and a half ago in 4 3/4". I still can't hit the broad side of a barn with it yet, but I like ii! Only have had a chance to fire it 4 times so far. I am trying 7.5 gr of Unique with 250gr LCRNPT (load from Unique's website, Cowboy loads).

those milleniums i wonder if you polished off that flat finish , and left it  like an antiqued old  finish? i canttake the  flat black , wouldnt take much to  take it off and  have the old west finish,  they are good shooters though and for the money  a real bargin pistol

I have an 1873 Cattleman. Love the gun. Well built, shoots well. I did have the semi-typical problem of the cylinder pin being ejected. Fixed that w/ a Belt Mountain base pin. I have been shooting cast only. An easy load, a step up from cowboy but still easy, is 6.5 grn Titegroup w/ 200 gr Oregon Trail RNFP. This is from Hodgson.
