The 375 H&H shooting 350gr bullets
« on: March 01, 2007, 05:32:46 AM »
I know there was a topic about the 375 H&H where someone shot the 350 gr bullet. I was gonna  try to get a load for the 350 gr bullet to 2200 to 2400 FPS. Has anyone done this using IMR4350 powder? Maybe some other powder

Hi,

I emailed Geoff McDonald of Woodleigh Bullets in January about the same question.  Here is what he emailed:  "For both SN and PP 350gr bullets use Federal 215 primer, 68-72 grains of Hodgdon H4350 for 2300-2380 fps or 73 grains H4831SC or IMR 4831 for 2250 fps.  For FMJ reduce SN load by 5% and work up."

I hope this helps.

I found some load dada on the 375's 350gr bullet. So I loaded up 10 and will see how they do. I used 76gr of H4831. They are suppose to go 2452 FPS. I'll shoot them thru my conagraph.
I'll let you know how fast they go and so forth.
I also E-mailed Geoff McDonald at Woodleigh Bullets about IMR4350 powder being used and He said: We stopped at 72 gr, pressure OK. It might be possible to get 2400 fps in individual rifles. Don't think it is nessary.

I got them almost up to 2400 fps using IMR4350.

Geoff says that the 350gr bullets will do 2380 fps with 72 grains of IMR4350.

You know it is always great when the head of a company answers email.  I send a special thanks to him and all the others who have taken time over the years to do so.  Thanks for the load data.
