"Tubeless" red dot sights
« on: March 02, 2007, 03:39:35 AM »
I have an old Tasco "Optima 2000" mounted on an S&W 22A and a Dr. Optic on a 6" .357 revolver. Both are quite accurate but the Dr. Optic is easier to zero and holds zero much better than the Tasco. Understandable since the Dr. Optic cost twice as much.
Similar sights are now offered by Burris, Trijicon, TruGlo and perhaps some others.  I would like to mount one at the rear sight location on the slide of my AMT .22 mag. It will need to be tough since that light weight slide cycles quite sharply.
I was wondering if anyone had experience with any of these sights.
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.
