Im looking for some loading data with the remington 185 gr. PSP in the 8 mauser.  Im looking to get roughly 2750fps or around that.  I have seen it done, but for the life of me i cannot find any info with this bullet as it was designed for the 8 mag.  Any experience or ideas?

There is a load with a 187gr. @ 2733 in the Lee #2, but absolutly nothing with the 185.  Would it be safe to duplicate this load with the 185?  BTW, this will be out of a remington 700 with a 24inch bbl.
I am not afraid to make an example out of you

I would use a starting load out of the Nosler manual for their 200 grain bullet, and work up from there...

Better yet, just use Noslers 200 grain bullet and have a load for everything up to moose!

I don't know if you can get there. I've just checked 5 manuals and none of them get much over 2600fps w/ 170gr max loads. Why so determined for 2750? There are a number of 175 gr loads that are delivering 2200-2400 ft-lbs of energy at 2400-2500fps. What game are you after? That Lee load is a "never exceed" with pretty high pressure. I wouldn't use it w/ a lighter bullet, even 2 grains lighter. If you try that load, I'd back off at least 10%.

I think the 2700 fps is a little high for a 185g bullet. I used the Hornady 170g bullet most of the time for deer hunting and traveling at 2630, it did a great job. The hornady 195g bullet traveling at 2500 fps was a real thumper, and very accurate too. If you want to crank up the velosity, the 150g Hornady was very accurate for me traveling at just over 2800 fps, but the heavy bullets worked best at long range.
