Bond Arms vs American Derringer

Both good guns but if you want a tank that will last generations buy a Bond, If you want a carry gun buy the AD

The Bond is about as heavy as a 38 snub nose so for a carry piece ya might as well have a 38 snub nose.

 Seems like a whole lot of versitility in a small package.

The Bond is kinda like a Ruger Vaquero; not a copy of anything historical, but built like a brick (and almost as heavy). The American is very close to an old Remington Derringer in appearance and size. They both have a hammer-block safety, but the Bond does have a rebounding hammer and retracting firing pins, so it's probably a safer carry gun (if that's what you're looking for). I just don't like the looks or weight of the Bond.

 I have an American Derringer in .357, and I've been very happy with it.

I have 2 American Derringers and have been Very happy with both. Try the trigger on the Bond before you decide. The one I have shot some requires you to push up and back, which doesn't feel right to me.

I admire the big 4 inch bond simply because its an alternative handgun action offered in real calibers. The AD stirs the soul however and inspires me to take up whisky and gambling full time. Scary!

Well I actually went ahead and got the Cobra for 130$. The local store just happened to have the exact finish and model I wanted. Its a chrome(nickel) 38special(38colt) with black plastic(gutta perch) stocks. Its very cowboy and I love it! Its accurate out to 2 yards but 3 is way too far. It works well with black powder and stays clean due to its design. I had some failures to fire with CCI primers but it ran flawlessly with winchester sp's. This turned out to be a great buy and I'm way too exicted for the price I paid. It really does give hours of fun just holding it drinking coffee in the mornings.

i carry the little AD double action daily, just about in the miniscule 22 mag.. will get another in something a bit bigger, but feel well armed for the time being, it is a little longer range option than the knife I usually also have. But it does rund dry faster..  I got it cause it is so light and small and just pull it and pull the trigger, the cci maxi mags do a lot more penetration than one would think...
I rather  have more shots but this just stirs me, I love to hold it while I drink in the mornings too

I've got an AD in .44 mag and it can be a bit stout to shoot, but at 7yds the bullet keyholes.  In fact it keyholes with any .44 round I put through it - but for cross table...
