Sleepy Creek Traps

What are your opinions on sleepy creek traps?  Have you had any problems with them?  How are the springs?  I have never really used them before and am thinking of buying a few dozen.  Thanks

The Sleepy Creek Coils are much better than the Long springs. I bought a couple dozen 1 ½ LSs 2 years ago, and they have already gone a bit soft, and I’ve had to add helper springs to all of them. The #4 DBL LSs seem to be heading in the same direction, but still to early to tell for sure. As far as Longs go, I’m happier with my 10-15 year old Victors than my 2 year old Sleepy’s. Now, the coils are a whole different story. I have SC 1.5 regular jaws that are super strong, well built, and reasonably priced. The offset style deserve a little attention to round down the edges of the jaws a bit, but the traps itself is well made, with lasting strength. Hope this helps a bit….

How are the springs in the 1 1/2 coils?  I'm looking for the best quality i can afford and sleepy creek could be it.  I just dont want to buy 5 dozen traps that turn out to have to have alot of money put into them.  Springs eventually no matter what the trap will have to be replaced i understand but is it a quality trap?
