Been Reloading
« on: March 05, 2007, 08:57:26 AM »
And reloading, reloading and more reloading all my cases, all my calibers. Will I ever get to shoot? Enough of this winter, cold and windy, snow and ice.

 :( :( :( :(

I am with ya fellas. It's been nice here, but the tornado speed wind gusts make it impossibile to shoot :-\ Oh well, good time loading up though ;D

myarmor, its not that windy, you could always go shoot like a 416 rigby or a 50bmg and hope to not get quite as much drift ;D ;D ;D  (not exactly a fun day of shooting though)

I just would like to get out of this wheelchair and be able to get to the range or my reload bench or back to work. This an't no fun. I wonder how fast in reverse I could go if I touched off my 45-70 while setting in this thing.

Ah,life in South Carolina.I've been to the range every Wednesday for about 5 years now excepting the few days when I had more pressing things.(Gloat gloat)
The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

it doesnt matter where you are, august is hot, period.  or it is in the midwest anyways.  but it would also be more humid that close to the coast so i would rather be in good old kansass.

Stan, whereabouts in SC are you? My Dad was from Hartsville. I often wonder how I ended up here on the tundra, waiting for the record snowfall to melt. My winter projects are about two-thirds ready for the range, but the range is blocked by drifts that are head-high this year.

The .357 barrel I ordered should be here about when things are melted and dried up enough to enjoy shooting again. The silver lining is that there will be plenty of spent bullets lying around the berms to throw in the casting pot. Othere people will have made it through the snow with big four-wheelers, and there will be a fair amount of lead downrange. When I first moved up here, I was amazed at how well a snowbank stops bullets. You end up with "mystery alloy", but it's good for plinkers.

Looks like we are finally going to get a break this weekend here in the Missouri Ozarks.  I have a bunch of different loads to try in my new 1894 .44 mag and I need to get the Steven 223 sighted in out to 100yds and need to try out some new 300gr cast loads in the 45/70.  It looks like I might have a busy weekend.  Now if the wind will just not blow across the range that day. :)
