Hey guys I was wondering of $199.99 for a brand new bull barrel synthetic stock nef rifle is a good price, or should I keep looking around. And how do these rifles shoot

I have one with the standard barrel and it shoots AWESOME! I can shoot pdogs in the head all day long at 100yds. I paid the same price for mine my sophmore year of highschool. and im a freshman in college now. if your looking to have one i would invest. we used to try to shoot pdogs back home with .22s at 200 yds. we'd hit em but theyd allways make it back to their holes. LOL ;D Not with my handloads from the .223 though! i had many a dog fly due to em. ;D Good luck.

I would think for a H&R or NEF under 200 would be a good buy i bought my heavy barrel 223 18years ago and paid 234 for it and i wouldnt ever traid it so i would think 199 would be a good buy and the 223 heavy barrel shots well to

If it where me and i wanted that caliber i wouldnt look any further snatch it up for that price i think the going price is like 214 to 250 in that range

Welcome aboard ruko3, I see that this is your first post here, I hope to see more posts from you in the future, if you shoot Handi's, and even if you do not, you are among friends here. That is a real good price for a new bull barrelled .223 Handi rifle, you will have to look long and hard to beat that price. I say buy it. My Handi's in .223 are among the best shooting guns I have. I just recently traded off one of my H&R .223 barrels and it was in the Bull barrel configuration. It would shoot under 1" groups all day long with the right ammo (WWB HP's) as long as I did my part. You will be very happy with that rilfe and for that price you could sell it or part it out here and easily get your money back. I am pretty confident though that after you get it and shoot it you will keep it. $200 and coyotes, prairie dogs and crows out to 300+ yards, you can't beat that. Some even use them for deer....<><.... ;)

I had a .223 bull barrel that shot very well, in fact it was the original barrel that came with my Handi.  The only problem it was the occasional (about 1 in 10) empty cartridges that refused to eject.  I polished the chamber and this helped some but every time I took it out to shoot I had better have a .22-cleaning rod with me.  I ended up selling it and getting a Stevens 200 in .223.  Yes that is a good price and yes the .223 barrel will shoot well. :-\

Thats a good price,I would grab it.My 223 is the standard barrel and I put synthetic stocks on it.Shoots great and easy to load for.

Here in south central iowa, a regular barrel .223 costs $202, so it sounds like you are getting a great deal!

My wood stocked 223 hb cost $202 at walmart.
The synthetic was about $15 higher.

P.S. H&R does not list a synthetic with a heavy barrel.
Unless it is the survivor or ultra fluted varment.

A lot of shooters think the standard contour Handi is a bull barrel due to the heavy contour, we see it all the time here and they even list em incorrectly on ebay. ;)

I bought a .223 Handi bull barrel in Jan. for about $240.  If it is a bull barrel you found a deal.
