model 1896 swede timney trigger installation

what is the best way for a the timney to be installed right now I have the screw rested against the hole underneath the receiver it is putting pressure on the screw is there a better way to have this hold, because I wnat it to be safe help appreciated

What model trigger do you have and what hole are you talking about? Timney triggers usually fit on the rifle easily.. If they don't I reccomend a call to Timney at the following toll free number - 1-866-484-6639. Their email is --

If the screw your talking about is the strain screw then there is likely a problem..

Had the same problem with one I did a few years ago. I used some shim material between the screw and the "hole" (on the bottom of the action). ONce you tighten up th screw against the shim material, it is held in place and not going anywhere. Has worked well ever since.
