.444 Marlin loads

  Hi, Any have a good load for a 300 gr. bullet in the .444.?  I am building a bolt action.

I use a max load of H322 in my Encores with a 300gr Sierra JSP. Really accurate load.   KN

Have you taken any game with this load?
If so, what was it and how did the bullet perform?

WalkingWolf, if you don't mind my asking, what bolt action are you using for the .444 you're building? I don't mean to hijack this thread, I'm just curious, as I've been toying with the thought of rebarreling a Dutch Mannlicher ( Sp??) to the .444. The cartridges & rims seem to fit fine in the en-bloc clips.

i load a 300 grn xtp for my marlin,i am not sure how well it will feed in a bolt gun,but they work real nice out of a lever.i use h335 powder,i don't recall the load but i remember the velocity to be chrono'd around 1950,that bullet performs very well and retains good mass.i use the 240 grn in all my 44 mag deer loads.good luck with the project,adker
