Explosion hazards in the home

My hot water heater gave up the ghost so I installed a new one with assistance of two of my Sons. Both are mid 30's. They asked why I was so critical about the installation.

I was a fire fighter many years ago and have seen this first hand.

The tank water heater in my house gave up the ghost about three years after I moved in and I finally replaced it with a tankless Takagi flash water heater.  Definitely a great move.  Unlimited hot water, no potential steam rocket.  Maybe a little more expensive at the time but the relative prices seemed to have equalized.

I had a couple of those instant devices installed in my Upton, CA office. They work great. I also put them in my Tourism Authority Office in Virginia City.

Well I'm getting WAY OT.

Just thought you folks would like to see what a water heater can really do when "pressed to perform".
