New addition to the family!!!
« on: May 12, 2003, 12:24:41 PM »
As some of you may know, my wife and I have been expecting our first child, and it came on its due date, today, May 12, at 1:42 a.m.  It's a little girl named Grace Jean, 8 lbs. 14.9 0z and delivered naturally with about 9 hours of labor.  We feel blessed that she is healthy and she is absolutely adorable!  As soon as we get home I'll post digital pics, I already love being a father! (of course, I haven't had to try to sleep through the night with her at home yet...)  She'll have a .22 in her hands as soon as she can hold it and I can teach her gun safety, sounds like a good reason to buy a .22 LR barrel and RF adapter for my Encore! :)  She'll be fishing as soon as she can walk and talk good too!  Thanks for your prayers and well wishes from earlier in the pregnancy!!!

I already have the scaled down H&R 12 gauge single that dad started us on, she get that later, as for the boys that will be chasing her, they will be required to pass an interview process involving a trip to the shooting range to make sure they are competent and safe with firearms so they can protect her, if they aren't, they fail, a mandated hunting trip to prove to me they can provide her with food, if they can't, they fail, and a required fishing trip to prove they can fish well, provide healthy fish for her, and pass the swimming test, if they fail the first two they won't make it to the third, if they fail the third, they're in serious trouble! ;)  (all mostly in good fun)

CONGRATULATIONS Selmer

Now you can say life has officially started, and I sincerely hope you have the good fortune to cherish each and every moment of it.

I have two Daughters, Christy 24, and Nicole 17. I have also been blessed with two grandchildren, MacKenzie 3, and little Alex 8 Months. Seems that when we are raising our own kids we are busy trying to provide for them in our hurry up world. When my daughters were growing up I was a Farmer, and many times I would work from sun up till sundown and not see them for a week at a time. Fortunately I am able to see what I missed in my Grandchildren now.

Give my best wishes to your wife, and give that precious little girl a big hug from ole SD Handgunner.

Again CONGRATULATIONS and best wishes to everyone.
