Some one talked on a previous post about Garands and m1 carbines being on the banned list.
All Semi-Autos will be on the next list !!!
In all honesty, I am down to about 4 semi-autos now anyway.
I have not much doubt that in 2008 the freedom to posess these types of weapons will
go away very quickly after the Dems take the Presidency..
Gun owners who back the Democratic party do not seem to care.
It is Blah, Blah Bush this and Blah, Blah, Bush that ... Any-body but a BUSH !
Well , one glimmmer of solice, The Dems will loose their constitutional rights along
with the rest of us...
Sadly it will take all gun owners to defeat this kind of measure and support can not be counted on from all. I really think 2008 will be it fellas'.. our way of life will change
in ways we are only beginning to think about. Imagine a United States ran completely
by ultra liberal Democrats.. Its coming folks, in a little more than a year....
Guns will only be the tip of the Ice-berg.... Welcome to the Socialist States of America !!!

I agree with you 100%.  If you enjoy any form of shooting sport, including hunting you had better wake up.  I live in the crazy state of New Jersey.  We have some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country and it is getting worse.  Newly proposed feel-good legislation by the crooks in Trenton include: one gun per month purchase limit,  .50cal. ban (probably will not be specific enough to exclude antiques, shotguns, muzzleloaders etc.)  and you will need to show a firearms purchaser I.D. card to buy ammo.  This is suppose to protect us from the gangs and terrorists.  WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!  If you dont think it could happen to you, think again.  Pennsylvania is slated to become the NJ west in the near future.  I know this does not fit the topic but I had to respond and vent my frustrations.

Guys,
There is hope in South Carolina. We had had the one gun a month law here since the early 70's and it was repealed about two years ago. The governor(Mark Sanford) that signed the repeal bill was easily re-elected and there is talk of him running for President. He is a Republican and he could be just the dark horse candidate the GOP needs

Folks - it sort of looks like civil disobedience is in order.  Remember how bad it was in the 60s and 70 when the college protests could not be put down and the entire stuipdity of the country followed to help us lose that 'asian war'.

Now think about this - college protests with buring buildings and burning cars and lots of cops and tear gas and water cannons and they couldn't stop unarmed college kids, how the hell do you think they are going to stop 80 million armed Americans?  They haven't even thought about that yet.  They think that if they beat up the NRA we are all going to pile our guns in the streets to be collected by the cops and sold off to urban racial terrorist groups - they are stupid, after all.

I guarantee you that just one well armed and well publicised protest will so disrupt their plans and create such interal American furor that they will either be voted out of office or run out.

Anybody remember Watts?  My goodness folks, with just 5 dedicated shooters you could tie up an entire big city police department while the rest of your 'protest' is burning the town down.

It is way to easy to begin a totally disruptive civil disobedience movement here - they just don't think we have the balls to do it.  Mikey.

Flame if you want, but you're not talking about "civil disobedience". When you talk about armed demonstrations and dedicated shooters tieing up a police department, you are now talking insurrection or revolution. You might want to check out the definiton of sedition, then read the Patriot act. I

Fastbike - Yep, that may be just one definition of the terms they would use to cast fear among the population and those who would disarm America and leave the population defenseless will use every fear tactic they can come up with.

Let them call it what they will, whether it be sedition, civil dsisobedience, insurrection or revolution.  I firmly believe that should they move to disarm the populace they will have to face whatever it is they wish to call it.  And if enough of the citizenry bands together and refuses to be disarmed and left defenseless it could get to that.

We can either wait and see how they intend to do away with our rights or we can let them know right up front what it will be like if they attempt it.  And also please remember that there are already enough 'dissedent' (sp) states and enough disenting localities even within potentially 'accepting' states to turn their efforts against them.  JMHO.  Mikey.

Why not read the Declaration of Independence instead? It came long before and says that such acts are not only legal but the DUTY and RESPONSIBILITY of Patriots.

My main point was that the acts described are not "civil disobedience". That term has completely different meaning and connotation. We do no good by describing a riot and calling it civil disobedience. Using Watts as an example does not help the case.
As far as the declaration of independence, I don't think that applies here unless you believe that states, municipalities, etc should be declaring independence from the United States. We are dealing with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. There is enough basis there.

However, a bunch of armed people buring a town is not going to win a majority of the population to the side of gun owners. Rhetoric like this is not useful in making non--gun owners more comfortable with the folks that are gun owners. However, it's your board. I just suggest you might want to be a bit more cautious in statements made by you or your moderators.

fastbike:  Your points are well taken, and thank you.  You are correct about my use of terminology and rhetoric.  I agree I make it sound like we currently face a terrible scenario but fear the alternative more.  I agree we should find a more 'civil' approach to retaining our rights but do not fear the alternative.

I appreciate your advice.  Mikey.

I stand with the Constitution.  Of course, the first few hundred to go will be labled "terrorists" and enemies of "the state" by the mass media, when in reality they will be modern day Patriots.  The sheep are just too stupid to know the difference.

Tyrants, commies, liberal and dumbocrats never take 'No' for an answer, it has to be crammed down their throats and i always love the rather surprised look on their faces when that happens......... Mikey.

Folks,it is easy to see the problem. The question is what is a common sense solution... I am a life member of the NRA and I dont want to give up my rights or freedoms...We all know that gun control is a bad deal...I dont really know what can be done..

Make the punishment fit the crime again, That is what can be done..
If someone murders someone else, EXECUTE their butts.
If someone uses a firearm to rob someone else, EXECUTE their butts.
If someone rapes, CASTRATE ! then EXECUTE their butts.
This country needs to bring back the occupation of the hang-man
and make it televised on every channel. There needs to be a big
banner behind the Gallows that reads: "If you commit violent crime, You will die HERE !!!"
This country has so many bleading hearts now that crimes are not getting
properly punished. America needs to wake up and quit electing sissies
or this whole country is going to fall.. and Quit punishing law abiding citizens
for what criminals are doing.

I would like to point out a FACT.in mass there were 1,500,000 licensed gun owners. today there are less than 200,000.in 1998 a $100 fee was voted just to own a gun.as you needed a license to own a gun or ammo.there are 4 differant licenses.did the people leave?no they just dropped out.I called GOAL and asked if the police were after the former gun owners.no because the records are not accurate.in other words the police know the people have guns but they do not know who. ??? ::)

I believe were in very deep do do on this one.  If the 1022 bill gets passed there will be more to follow, yup there going to melt down our toys...........

Politicians suck for sure.  We vote in these lazy bastards and they do a 180 and screw us in return.  They do not represent us in any of our views at all.

It will be the semi auto's first then everything else too..
