safety warning
« on: March 11, 2007, 06:59:12 AM »
I know I've seem something about this before but can't find it. I am having a lot of work done on my 44 mag super redhawk. Magnabrake, action job, cut and recrown barrel and custom grips, and it drives me nuts to see that safety warning on the barrel. Does anyone know if it is legal to have it removed? And if so who does this kind of work.

Legal or not plenty of guys do it.
I cannot think of a reason why it would not be legal but I can see some liability when selling it

Yeah, this is my primary hunting handgun so don't plan on ever selling it. Hopefully my son will think of me when he takes a deer with it after I'm gone.

Its your gun do what you want with it---just don't touch the serial number---that could lead to some problems.

I definately would not touch the serial number, or any other stamping on the frame just the barrel.
