Need Help... (New Complete Rifle or New Accessory Barrel)?
« on: March 12, 2007, 07:24:28 AM »
I am definitely wanting a 444 Marlin if the twist is indeed going to be 1:20.

I already have an Ultra in 444 Marlin with the old 1:38 twist in Black/Gray Laminate stocks.

I live in Mississippi and this will be my Primitive whitetail hunting rifle carried day-in/out during all types of weather; leading me to decide I'd rather use a plain wood cheaper stocked version; yet on the other side I would not be able to enjoy the pretty Laminate stocks and it would probably not get used.

I also have a Buffalo Classic so its not like I have only 1 receiver.

So do I get the new twist barrel for my Ultra and have a nice Factory Fitted 444 Marlin rifle with barrels in each twist?
                             Or
Do I buy a whole new setup leaving me a Safe Queen Limited and a Hardcore hunter working girl to abuse?

Please Help!

You can never have too many guns, so I'd recommend a complete new gun, then you'll have another frame that you can send in for more barrels when you're not hunting with it!! The only reason I didn't go for a complete rifle is I have an extra frame and I also want another checkered camo lam stock set for it, so all I did was pack up the frame and send it off, lots easier to pack and wrap!! They're just cutting the barrels this week if all goes according to schedule, so it will still be a while before they're in stock at distributors.

Diddo what they said :) An extra receiver is always handy to have around.

I echo the whole rifle plan. Especially with turn around time being what it is now. I have just about decided to buy another receiver so all three of my barrels have their own receiver so I don't have to mess with changing out barrels. Charlie
