EAA Witness guns
« on: May 13, 2003, 02:36:34 PM »
Would like to hear comments, experiences about handguns from European American Armory(EAA). I am especially interested in the EAA Witness .45 in Polymer. Anybody shoot these or own one and have likes/dislikes? What is accuracy/reliability like on these guns that are only $350 new?

The only EAA Witness gun I've shot is a polymer framed 9mm.  As far as accuracy goes, it's on par with my CZ-75.  The only reliability issues we had with it were when we were using CZ-75 magazines in the Witness.  They fit but didn't want to work right.

My personal opinion from handling the polymer and steel framed guns is that the steel framed pistols are more comfortable in the hand.  Not having shot a steel framed Witness, I can't vouch for them in that department, but I suspect that they'll be better there, too.  At least for me.

The only problem I had with the polymer framed Witness is that it ejects a little too straight back for me.  When shooting this gun, almost every piece of brass out of the gun hit me square on the bridge of the nose.  Most of the rest got me in the forehead.  I suspect that this is because I am left-eye dominant, but right-handed, and I just had the pistol lined up in the right spot to bean me.  Neither of the right-eyed people that fired this same pistol (the owner being one of them) experienced this issue.

We also noticed that brass didn't go very far after being ejected, practially landing at our feet.  This is great for the reloader who doesn't want to walk 10 feet for their brass.

All in all, I'd say it is a good pistol and well worth the $350 asking price, though it's not the gun for me.

I've sure been hearing a lot about these pistols lately. I guess I'm going to have to look into them to see what all the fuss is about.

my first experience with eaa is with my saiga 308 rifle.
It ia a fantastic shooter for the $250 I paid.
I have ordered a witness 10 mm because I want one before they dissappear altogether.
If the pistol shoots as good as my rifle,I will be buying a few more eaa products, you surely cant beat their prices.
they are based on the cz design so how bad could they possibly be?
I feel eaa gives you a excellent product for the money.

The ones I've seen are not very easy to look at, but I guess if they work ok and they are cheap------------. Might buy one or two for car guns.
I need to find someone who has one and handle/shoot it a little bit.

I asked this question titled "Tanfoglio Opinions" on the 1911 area of this forum and got a few opinions.  All that I've heard is good about them.   I was ready to buy a 45, but found a slightly used Springfield a few weeks ago.
