Almost ready to pull the trigger on a Buckmark...

I'm about to purchased a Buckmark Hunter model pistol.  Is there any reason I should turn and go the other way?  If I don't get this pistol then I'll probably save my cash and plan towards something else that isn't even in the same genre.  However I do want a .22lr pistol mostly because they're fun and cheap to shoot.

Go for it. i bought a Buckmark a year ago (my first handgun) and I love it. I have shot around 1,000 rounds through it without a problem. It is certainly more accurate than I am1

When deciding on a 22lr handgun there are tons of choices. There are a few choices that you cannot go wrong, the Buckmark is one.

We have two Buckmarks in the family.  Mine is a little older than my son's and they both are great guns.  My son's had to go back to Browning because of a flaw in the barrel, but it was back in a week and now works great.  I bought mine because the trigger was better than the other pistols in the case at the time, and now that I have it I would do it again.

Would buying any of the Bucmark models give me the same reliability, accuracy and durability?  I'm almost thinking maybe I could get a cheaper more standard model since it will be mostly for plinking and what not.

I have a Buckmark and really like it. My shooting buddy shoots what ever he wants and has settled on a Buckmark for punching paper. I would reconmend Buckmark over any simular priced 22 auto.

If you are looking to get good accuracy and still save money, you dont need to go with the hunter model.  I have a buckmark camper and it still hasnt missed a grouse.

Buy it!  You'll never regret it.  And it's a lot more satisfying than spending your money on something useful like auto insurance or a new vacuum cleaner, neither of which you can expect to enjoy for a lifetime and then pass on to someone else!

That one's tougher.  The logic works great on me but not so well on either of my ex-wives.  And the current girlfriend's starting to ask what the safe combinations are so she can see for herself what I'm up to.  Fat chance.

And as for the Buckmark, I've got an old Challenger III that I bought new in 1985 (first ex-wife era) and just love.  The Buckmark's pretty similar; the one difference of which I'm aware is an improved magazine design.  -WSJ

My pusher...er I mean dealer is having a tough time finding me the new Camper Stainless w/Truglo Front Sight.  I'm almost thinking that if he can't find one I may try and trade my SigPro + cash for a Sig 229 or I may just wait and save the few extra bucks to get another rifle.  Then I can give the Buck Mark request to my wife since my b-day is coming up in about 2 1/2 months.

Decisions, decisions...so many things that I need to get, too little money and time

Holy crap.  I can't find a dealer that stocks any of the models that I'm interested in.  I've shyed away from the Hunter model.  I really want the Camper Stainless with URX Grips and Truglo front sight, only problem is that I called Browning and it won't be available until the end of June.  So it will go on my Wish List and my wife will have to buy if for me

The one I got last month, must have been a left over from last year, its not in the catalog.  It's called a Buckmark Micro Bull.  Looks like the Buckmark Camper #20 on the 2nd page of the Browning site.  Except mine has a 4" instead of a 5 1/2" barrel.  Been so busy I haven't gotten to the range with it yet.  Hopefully this week.  Its my first handgun so I hope its a good one.
