Bisley trigger size?
« on: March 14, 2007, 06:08:22 PM »
The Ruger website says the Bisley trigger is wider (I infer from that they mean wider than the standard Vaquero or Blackhawk) to facilitate target shooting.

I have only seen photos of these models and it is not possible to determine just how wide - or how much wider than "standard" -  the trigger is; might any current owner or someone familiar with them comment?

The trigger does have a more pronounced curvature (based on the pictures) and I'm hoping that plus the added width does indeed improve trigger feel and action.

I just measured my Bisleys againstmy non-Bisleys and all have a 1/4" wide trigger.  the curve varies as you mention but not the width with my crude tape measure usage.   I do believe you can still find trigger shoes to widen the face of the trigger to disperse the pressure over a larger areabut it's so simple to simply change the internal  trigger/hammer springs for an improved feel.  Might as well actually make it better than simply making it feel better.
