Hornady Handbook #7 and 35 Rem
« on: March 16, 2007, 08:57:02 AM »
Does anyone have a copy of the newest Hornady reloading manual?
I saw one at my local hook & bullet store yesterday, but didn't have the $30 to bring it home.
While thumbing through the store copy I looked up the data for the 35 Remington.
I could be wrong but it looks like someone make a BIG mistake: 200 grain bullets at 2,900 ft/sec :o  :o
Was I seeing things? ???

Anduril:
I think Hornady rushed this book to print too fast.  I have the book and found strange listings also.  If you go to the Hornady website, they list a whole page of corrections for this manual.  The corrected top speed for a 200 gr. bullet in the 35 Rem. is now 2050 fps.  Despite the needed corrections, I like the book and would buy it again.

The first 325 load for the 480 Ruger is 7grs over max compared to the correction. I have also noticed how low their max data is (7-08) compared to the Hodgdon online loads ???
