Mule Footed Hogs

     I have only killed one of them but here in Gulf Hammock Florida, there are hogs occassionally seen the local's refer to as "Mule Footed Hogs". The hoof or foot is not split in two but is one peice like a horse or a mule. They also normally have long waddles on the lower part of their neck. Has anyone heard of this type of hog else where?

they are all over. I head once that some guys in La was trying to breed just mulefooted hogs. I have heard of them caught all along the cost and in Ok and Ark.

Yea, they are all over the place in Florida.   They are descendants of the food pigs that the Spaniards brought with them to the new world.

Good day gentleman, there is a member of GBO by the name of curdog. I seem to remember him having several of these hogs for sale. If I understand right he catches them w/ his dogs and keeps them. He may know more about the subject. Have a goodun..........Bill

Kosher animals have to have cloven hooves and chew cud (have 4-part stomachs).  Horses and mules are forbidden.
