I use a 223 22" heavy barrel.
Out to 150yd you should be able to use some of the cheaper hollow point bullets they seem to like.
That's what I do.
Past that you will have to buy premium or reload.
Then it will cost you just as much as the 204 or 243.
Also the 243 or 25-06 will be better in the wind.
