Ruger Tomahawk revolver?
« on: March 20, 2007, 01:50:34 AM »
A friend told me he knows of a 'Ruger Tomahawk' stainless steel, 44 caliber revolver that a neighbor lady is trying to sell. It is supposedly one of only a thousand made by Ruger and presented to certain Ruger employees. It is identified by a single-digit number as one of the thousand, and is accompanied by a presentation plaque that does NOT have the recipients name on it, but does say it's a factory presentation.

This all the description I have. I don't know if it's single or double action, barrel length, or which 44 cartridge it's chambered for, or anything else.

Is anyone aware of such a thing?

Nothing I've ever heard of but ask at RugerForum.com If anyone knows it's a couple of the Ruger veterans over there.

There IS a Ruger Tomahawk! Got a tip from the SASS wire that Magnaport made them, so I called them up.

They were built by Magnaport in the 70’s. They started with a blued Super Blackhawk, cut the barrel to 4 5/8”, ported it, red insert front sight, white outline rear, action job, a chrome-like finish and a carrying case. They made 200 of them, not 1000.

Interesting..........
