Two questions. I purchase a Remington 700 in .270 from my brother-in-law ( he had won it in a raffle). He did not know any of the particulars on the weapon. Only time it was fired was to sight in, before I got it. I have been told it is a BDL but it is a little different from BDL's I have seen in the stores. It has all kinds of scroll work (etchings) on the receiver and the floor plate, floor plate even has a Ram etched into it. Is this just some kind of special edition or was it a regular model?
Next question, I have some medium Leup riflleman rings (aluminum) fitted around a Busnell Trophy 3-9x/40 scope and I want to change them out with Burris Signiture Zee rings. There is absolutely no room to spare on height. If the Burris medium rings are any lower than the Leup rings I am in trouble. Are medium in one the same as medium in the other or should I just go to high rings? I am new at this game and any help would be greatly appreciatecd. This is my first gun with a scope, heck other than my dad's old Win 25-35, I have never fired anything over a .22 or shotgun.
Thanks
