model 40

well i went to the gun shop to look at the new 17 fireball and saw the model 40 in 22 hornet on the self. i was impressed by the accu-trigger ,and the fit and finish of the gun, so i took it home with me. ;D i will post some pics of how it shoots as soon as we get some decent weather.

Good work 17ghk. Just love those Savages. Bet you'll get a lifetime of enjoyment from it.

If you like single shot, bolt action rifles in an excellent caliber (and I do like), the Model 40 looks like one of the best, especially for the price.

I like the 24" inch barrel. It is low profile, love the laminated stock and I really like the wide beavertail forend. Sweet rifle.

Plus, its made in the good old USA and that's important to me. ;)

I dont think that there is a better gun than the savage model 40 even for another $120. You already listed all the reasons. thanks
