Monte Carlo Stock
« on: March 22, 2007, 09:58:04 AM »
I just received my 870 20guage PN f202001 black synthetic stock.  Put it on my 7600 30-06 carbine and now I can use both the rifle sights and my lepould scope.  With the Monte Carlo stock you couldn't use the standard rifle sights only the scope sights.  The stock fit perfectly, no sawing, no sanding.

Now I have to go zero the rifle sights for 50yds woods hunting as the scope sight will be zeroed in at 200yds.  I can't believe Remington only put Monte Carlo sights.

Cost me $65 direct from Remington, tried to buy it from Midway and other places but I was't sure what I was getting would be right.  Good hunch because if I had ordered by mail or from Midway I would have gotten the wrong stock.
Best little shooting rifle I own for woods hunting.

What you have said has been just the opposite of everything I was ever told. It was my understanding that monte carlo stocks were designed for use with scopes, not open sights. In fact, I started another thread on here a while back where we could not sight my brother's new 7400 with synthetic monte-carlo stock. The letter we received from Remington was that they anticipate that people will use a scope therfore they supply their rifle with that style stock. My brother voiced his concern that he intended to use the open sights and Remington replaced the stock with a non-monte-carlo version, replaced the front sight as well and he was good to go....?

It even had a strap bolt plus a hole that it screws into so I now can with an Uncle Mikes barrel clamp use a sling.   I have always heard  if you use the 20ga 870 synthetic stock it fit the 7600 a straight back style you could use existing rifle sights and it worked on mine.  I now will go to range and zero at 50yds with existing rifle sight.  Then I will put the scope back on and reset zero for 200yds.  I got that advice on the stock off of this forum.
