another stalker/safari question
« on: March 24, 2007, 06:35:17 AM »
Does anyone have enough experience with BARs to determine that the "Stalker" is less durable/desireable than the Safari?
Possibly splitting hairs but I, if possible, it seems the steel receiver, sights and comp. stock would be ideal. Browning won't put sights on the Safari. Yes, I checked. Thanks.

I have a stalker in 300win mag, Its never gave me any trouble, seems pretty tough to me, i had one in the safari grade also but i like the stalker because its lighter... if browning makes it i'll trust it.

I have a BAR Stalker in 308. I got that version because I wanted the lighter weight & open sight option. I do not feel it gives up anything in the durability dept to the other models. I also did not care for the newer 'euro' type BARs. It may depend some on what cal. your looking at and what type of hunting is planned. Most of my use is deer hunting with the average shot at 50-75 yrds.
