Center fire disc target
« on: May 15, 2003, 03:50:55 PM »
A friend of mine just got a new plasma cutter. I want to make a disc target with 6 discs to shoot with a .41 mag. And a way to reset. Was wondering if anyone has any ideas? How thick should the metal be? What should the diameter of the discs be? I want to set them in a row for double action. Also, what distance should they be shot at? This will be set up in my back yard. So moving is not an issue. Also, a friend of mine fills propane tanks. Here in NY some expired. So he took the valve out of one and I hung it in a tree in the back yard. My son shoots his 22 at it and has a ball. the thing that amazed me was that a 12 ga foster slug at 50 yards did not penatrate. Not even a hot jacketed .41mag at the same distance. Both put  a big dent. If you hit the same spot twice it would go through. Just fun.
