Uncle Mikes makes a kit where the bolt for the grip serves as a sling swivel as well.  They were made for TC grips but the bolt part can be shortened to use with Pachmayr grips.  It works great.

What I have done in the past is to have a machinist make me an adaptor. This adaptor is made out of ROD that is the same size as the hole in the Pachmayr Grip (3/8" Rod if I remember right). I make this rod the length required to reach from the bottom of the hole in the grip to the top of the hole in the grip. I then had a hole drilled in one end and tapped with 1/4"x20 Threads. In this hole I JB Welded a 1/4"x20 Stud to screw into the Contender Grip Frame. On the other end of the 3/8" rod I had a hole drilled and #10 Threads tapped into it so as to be able to screw a Machine Screw type Sling Swivel Stud into it. I then JB Welded the Sling Swivel Stud into that hole. This provided me the same thing as the Uncle Mikes Kit.

When I bought my pac grips for the contender back in the 1980's, it came with the swivel studded bolt for the grip. Since that time I have not seen it sold like that, only way is to get Uncle Mikes parts now.

It also had a clamp for the top end of the sling that tightened onto the barrel. I still use it that way and have not had a problem.
