Frist let me say Tool`s are like Gun`s you can`t have enough of them. So what do you guy`s or gal`s like .
Craftsman, Snap-on, S K, Mac, Husky, Kolbalt. The list goes on. I have mostly Craftsman love there retrun policy.

I guess you can tell by my name I am a carpenter. You are rite you can't have to many tools. My wife gets on me sometimes when I buy new tools but I just tell her this is how I make my living and I need it. I have differnet brands most of my power tools are Dewalt. I also have Porta Cable and some Craftsman tools.

DALESCARPENTRY, I like Dewalt and Craftsman too. As an old retired welder I know more about welding equipment. As far as I am concerned there are only 3 brands to choose from. Lincoln for welding machines and the only one for portables. Victor for oxy-ace. cutting and welding equipment. Miller makes very good wire (MIG) welders.

Just about every hand tool that i own is either Craftsman or snap-on , power tools run from Dewalt to Porta-cable to the dreaded Ra-o-be

I bought a Riobi cordless drill some years ago and burned it up in one day driving screws in a deck I was building. I have not bought another tool from them since. I think they are more geared toward the handy person or home owner.

You got that right Dale , i use it to remove butt pad screws and install forarms because it has an ajustable cluch on it . for the real work i grab the Dewalts .

i use mostly snap on tools.  however i have no problem with others, except craftsmen's plain ratchets.  these are the worst rachets ever, they never work right and are incredibally coarsly geared.  not good for a mechanic.

Before I get flamed these are just my opinions. After being a cabinetmaker for 23+ years, these are my favorites:
Milwaukee- corded drills, sawzall
Dewalt-cordless drills, biscuit joiner, miter box
Porter cable-routers
Bosch-belt sanders, jigsaws

All my shop handtools (well socket sets and screwdrivers anyway) are craftsman, tool box also. I can't afford snapon, although that hotdog wagon has been looking pretty good lately. The rest are either specialty tools or common tools but I look for the best quality I can afford.

I build trade show exhibits and sometimes have to go to the shows to install and dismantle them. All my tools for this are the cheapest pieces of junk I can find. I don't know how many times I've lost a tool or borrowed it to someone that didn't return it or it was stolen outright and It doesn't hurt so much if it is just junk anyway.

Well Grimjim I would have to agree on your choices. I only own one Milwaukee tool and that would be my 1/2'' corded drill. I have had it for years and it is still going strong. All my cordless drills are Dewalt. My chop saw is a Dewalt 12'' sliding compound miter saw. My jig saw is a Bosh ( The one with a handle not the barrel grip ) My belt sander is a Makita but when it wears out I will replace it with a Porter Cable. and my routers are Porter Cable.

I got used to using the barrel grip jig saws when they first came out. They do tend to get hot though.

I like my snap-on tools, with the exception of the 1/2" drive impact gun, the trigger assembly is junk, it broke 2 times in 2 years. Went back to an Ingrisoll rand, the make the most durable impact guns. Most of my handtools are SK, sockets & ratchets are stronger tha craftsman & are lifetime warranty. I use my tools everyday. Yes, craftman sockets & ratchets have a lifetime warranty on the tools, but not on your knuckles!!!!!!

Craftsman hand tools, for the warranty.  As far as power tools go, I'll buy DeWalt any day unless it's for home use only, then, just about anything will do.

I started out 40 yrs ago as a autobody man. All my 3/4", 1/2", 1/4" sockets were S&K. Still have most of them. Wrenches & other tools were mostly MAC Tools because the truck came to the shop every week & we could pay on time payments. Picked up a few Snap-On from guys that needed money in the garages. ( Like the set of Snap-On 1" drive sockets & ext. for $ 25.00. ) Now buy mostly Craftsman tools, because of the return policy, except ratchets ( to many busted knuckles ).  Now I let the younger guys do my mechanic work so I can shoot more.

Hello all, I guess since I voted for this forum, I better start posting.  I'm a carpenter/cabinetmaker.  Most of my power tools are Makita, Milwaukee & Bosch, with a few P-C thrown in as well.  Never had much luck with Dewalt, but to each his own.  I have a fair-sized set of Craftsman hand tools, wrenches, sockets, etc. 

Slowly getting into the Festool line.  All German made - very well designed & built, easy to use although pretty pricey.

Being just a home handyman and a "used-to-be" shade tree mechanic (in my younger days and before the computer age) 90% of my hand tools are Craftsman, nothing very professional or heavy duty.  My socket sets are S-K.  Power tools are Craftsman, Skil or Black & Decker.  The tools for tinkering with firearms are mostly from Brownell's. 

The last power tool I bought was approximately 10 years ago.  That was a Craftsman 3/8" battery operated drill. 

I do have a Craftsman jig saw that was my grandfathers and is very old.  It has a metal body and weighs a ton.  Although a bit dirty, It still runs fine.
