Is anyone hunting out there?
« on: May 16, 2003, 02:49:38 AM »
It sure has been dead around here for a while now. Is anyone hunting out there? I have had a couple of my  youth hunts since my last posting and took a friend and his 10 year old grandson on his grandson's first exotic hunt for a Painted Desert ram. Come on guys, let's hear how it is going.

Once a year is all I get.  Used that up a month ago hunting hogs and blackbuck.  Sure wish I could make it down your way more often.

yeah it has really died down here.  I finally got my wifes new rifle sighted in and am ready to take her after some axis does or something like that.  Howie had posted about a place in E. Tx Woodville with axis does for about $125.00 a head.  I am gonna call and check into that.  Do you know of any good inexpensive hunts I can take my wife to?   She has been hunting with me a number of years, but has only taken one whitetail doe so far and a number of small game critters.  Let me know.

Mark,

I don't know of any ranches where you can beat $125.00. Most are at least $200.00 and up. Good luck and ya'll have fun.

Sadly no. It's a long way to TX for me and while TN isn't all that far the quality of animals is pretty poor in comparison and the prices are generally higher than in TX. I just can't pull it off very often on my retirement pay.
