Suppressed Handi-Rifle
« on: March 27, 2007, 08:25:50 AM »
I have had my H&R 12G for about a year now and I love it.

My friend bought a Handi-Rifle in .223 with a Bull Barrel.

I was thinking of getting the same gun in hopes of adding a suppressor.  I am fully aware of what it takes to get a legal suppressor.

I am wondering if anyone has done this?  I can't find one instance of a suppressed NEF online.

Thanks for your help.

Is the can permanent or removeable?

Sorry Howard, I forgot about yours!! Howard is in New Zealand, if you click their member name, you can view their profile, some folks have their location listed, it helps a lot.

I"m considering one for my newly acquired LE in .357 Mag. The intent is to make a quiet coyote rifle. There is no hunting allowed in Georgia with a suppressor. I need to find out if I can get a special nuisance animal control permit to use the Handi with a suppressor. Special permits do exist if one can convince the DNR of it's need.
I own my Pest Control business, so I should be able to get one IF they exist.
I think the .357 Mag just might be the perfect coyote round for subsonic use. Guess I could load a Hornady 250 RN backwards to about 900 fps??
The idea has merit. I could be overlooking something as always.

 Gemtech makes a removable.

...there are many kinds of wounded, and only one kind of dead. Do it the Handi way, one shot, one kill.

A brief overview of mine.

H&R 258 - combo 30-30 & cal20, electroless.
Suppressor: BR T8

NEF 22 Hornet (SB2-224).

Stock: Choate Varmint.
Suppressor : Ase Utra.

NEF 45/70 Gov. (SB2-457)
Suppressor : BR T8

Yes, it works. Accuracy is good, even better than without, less recoil, less report, easiest to shoot.

I have said it before and will say it again.  I'm utterly amazed that as strict as the gun laws in England are, you can still get supressors.  Here where gun ownership is written into the Constitution, it's nearly impossible.

Never ceases to amaze me!

Don't take me wrong, I say good for you guys, wish we could too.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

Here's a link to my good friends web site. He sells suppressors, he can set you up. I plan on getting one for my handi as soon as I get my handi that is. I figure it will be an advantage when yote hunting.

P.S. If you are one of the many AMERICANS who think you can't own a silencer check the above link. It is legal in some states and not as difficult as you might think.'
