LBT 4 cavity.476" 420 WFN Mould for sale.

I'd like to sell a brand new never used LBT four cavity .476" 420 WFN mould. I'd like to get $130 for it shipped. That's the same price as a two cavity from the maker I believe. I'm selling my RB480 and just have no future plans that include this caliber gun.

Graybeard, Is the nose to crimp length proper for a FA 83 (I don't have the numbers handy...isn't it .340 or so?)?....If so, I'll take it....

I think it will measure out @ .330" according to some correspondence I have from Dave @ Montana Bullet Works who casts with that particular mold....should be just right for the FA 83...please confirm and we'll get moving on it....

It's not been used so I have no bullets to go by but as best as I can measure the mould itself it appears to be .370" to me.

Hmmm...Veral state's in his catalog that the standard nose-to-crimp length for this .476 molds is .400...one must specify other length desired when ordering. Don't want to sound picky, but I am certain .360 is the max allowed before you run the risk of bullet jump tying up the cylinder in a FA 83. Did you happen to order your mold for an FA? If not, it may not be suited for my gun....

No I did not order it for an FA83. The gun I had at the time was a Taurus Raging Bull in .480 Ruger. Veral pays me for his advertising each year by making me some moulds rather than with cash. We normally talk it over and so he knew what gun I had I'm pretty sure. It's really difficult to measure as precisely as I'd like with the caliper without any scratching of the aluminum but for sure the measurement as best as I can take it is more than .360" but not by much. It might be .360" but I'd need a bullet to be sure and haven't used the mould. I have shot lots of these bullets in the past from other moulds tho and they have always worked just fine in my gun which is why I took this one from Veral but it's been at least 3-4 years since I have fired up my pot and cast any bullets.

The total bullet length is .900" and is so marked on the mould. Using a three sided rule I have made of softer material so as not to scratch the mould it appears to me what I have is likely Veral's .400" nose length. I was reluctant to get the stainless steel caliper down onto the surfaces and think I just didn't get a good reading as a result. It is Definitely MORE than .360".

Graybeard, sounds like the mold would not drop bullets suited for the short (comparatively speaking) cylinder of my FA 83....is exchanging it with Veral for a proper .340 or .360 nose-to-crimp length mold a possibility?

I honestly don't know. You could post a question on his forum here and ask if you'd like to try to do that. I'm not going to as I'm sure in time it will sell to someone but if you want to get it at a real bargain price and first ask him if he would trade for another you can you're welcome. It's absolutely brand new so he'd have no trouble putting it back into inventory and selling it to the next person wanting that mould but I can't speak for him.

Very true, I was nice enough to do that for you last night. Normally I'd have just deleted it.

The ad for lead is by a paid advertiser, they are allowed to post in the discussion forums. Non paying members must use the Classifieds NOT the discussion forums. Since the site is mine I put my ads anywhere I want to. One of the perks of paying the thousands of dollars per year it takes to run this site. You don't get such perks as a non paying member.

Yup, that's my favorite .476" bullet. I've used them cast up for me by a couple other folks in LBT moulds and sure do like them. That's why I got that one from Veral but then I didn't get around to using it. I've really not cast a bullet now in close to four years. Now I've got my gun for it on consignment in a local gun shop so am not likely to be needing it anymore. Glad someone who will use it has it now. Enjoy.
