M44 ???
« on: March 31, 2007, 10:54:58 AM »
I did some trading today and come away with a Mosin Nagant M44. My question is that on top of the reciever is what looks like Chinese marking was the M44 ever made in China or another country with similar writing. It looks just like the Mosin Nagant I use to own so I am thinking it is also a 7.62x54R but those marking made me wonder what country it is from. Thanks in advance for any help.

The Chinese version of the M-44 is designated as a T-53.
The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

45/70..it's almost a religion.

I have one of the Chinese Mosins myself and it is a serviceable rifle.
Not pretty or well finished (take of the forearm and it looks like it just came from the Lathe)
But it shoots about as well as other Mosin carbines..
