featherweight walnut

I bought a win. 70 f.weight 25wssm about a year ago I like it  but in my gun cabinet the walnut looks like dark brown paint. In bright light you can see its good wood.
I turn the light on in my gun cabinet every evening I enjoy looking at my guns. Gun nut? who said that ;D

I have the same gun and it looks the same.  Just a very thick dark finish on it.  How do you like it?

Actually I'm not crazy about real dark walnut but I do like the rifle.
I think it might look better on the wall then in my cabinet.
