First FA on its way to Denmark....
« on: April 02, 2007, 06:35:52 AM »
Hey everybody.

I'm new here, so just wanted to greet my fellow gunslingers. Today I finally did it, I ordered a FA M83 Premier Grade with micarta grips, .357 mag. 4 3\4 inch barrel. I've been looking for a SA for years now (SA's just make my heart pound faster), and finally decided to go for the Freedom Arms. In Denmark we have a very strict law on handguns, which basically means we got the .22, the .32, the .38, the 357. mag.... and that's it :o(. Everything bigger than the .357 is not allowed, at all! I tried a .454 in Germany a few years back, and fell in love with it instantly. So after having read all your threads on the .353 i decided this was the right gun for me. I like 'em big and powerful, and since the FA .357 is about as powerful as a .357 can get, there really wasn't any way around it. My accountant is gonna have my behind for breakfast, be aware... I have to pay an additional 25% taxes :o(

So now the longing and craving can really begin, since I probably have to wait 4 months for the thing to arrive.

Anyways, I look forward to picking your brains, on loading charts and know-how on the Freedom Arms when i receive it :o)

Learn to shoot that gun well.  Denmark is one of the few European countries that is in danger of being overtaken by Muslims!!  They elected an anti-immigration government and it promply forgot why it was elected!!  Europeans are a pretty pathetic bunch in my book but the Danes are going to be beyond that if they don't wake up and start kick'n the Muslims out!!  OK, I'm ready, haul back and blast away at this culturist pig!!!

Okay, this wasn't really the kind of reply I was expecting from my first thread. But I hear you, loud and clear. I live in this country, and every year I see how the situation goes from bad to worse. I see my country selling its soul, and getting absolutely nothing whatsoever in return. Even so, I'm sick and tired of talking about the muslim situation... it makes the blood in my veins freeze, and the tears fall from my heart :(

But we are on the same page. The problem is getting worse, and nobody's doing anything about it.

Wiking,
Congratulations on selecting your first FA revolver. The .357 is among the most accurate chamberings in the Mdl. 83, and as you already know, can be loaded a bit stronger in this revover than in most others. I wish you many years of enjoyment with it.

Hello Wiking! I am new to this board too. I know you will love your new freedom Arms 357. It is a shame you can't own some of the large calibers. However the 357 will be more fun overall to shoot. I wish I had enough money to own one in every caliber. I have a 454 and a 475.. I really want a 500WE, 41 magnum and a 32 magnum sometime. Let us know when you get your pistol......

Hello Crazy Horse.
Yes I'm quite sure I won't regret having chosen Freedom Arms. If I could, I would have bought a bigger caliber. But as you insinuated, I think a .454 or a .475 would be a little to brutal as I often shoot between 50 and 100 rounds at the range. And since we aren't allowed to hunt with handguns in Denmark, the range is about the only place I can use it. So for my needs, I believe a .357 will do just fine :o)

Wiking, After you receive your F/A 357, order a Model 83 in 22 lr. Mine is very accurate and very pleasant to shoot. You will not regret the purchase. Rod in Pa.

Rod in pa:

Yes I'm sure the .22 LR is also very nice to shoot. But in Denmark Freedom Arms revolvers cost 3000 a piece. So 2 of these are a bit to much for my budget....

Way to go Wiking!

I just bought my first as well--a Model 83 Premier in .454 Casull with a 6" barrel.  It truly is the Rolls Royce of revolvers--it will ruin you for life when it comes to revolvers!  Enjoy yours!

Best,
mojo

Hallo Viking, velkommen i klubben. Jeg har to .357 (353 merkede) FA 83, mulig jeg kan hjelpe deg med noe data for H110 og N110, nesten bare ladninger for silhuett, men det gir en begynnelse. PM meg om du vil.

And to the other members:

Wiking,
Welcome to GB!  Hope you enjoy that FA! It's one nice revolver...  Yep, all the European countries are selling out but then again, so is the US of A.  It all started with the EU.  Why would any country give up it's heritage and autonomy?  Are they any better off now than before?  The US is slowly giving in to the special interest groups.  We are losing the initiative and desire to even protect our own borders that we fought wars to establish.  The one world government is coming sooner than we think.
In Germany we can have pretty much whatever we want in the way of caliber or chambering (within reason of course just like the US).  Can you carry the revolver for "finishing shots" while hunting?

Birger, jo tak, vil gerne have nogle ideer til ladninger når jeg får pistolen hjem.

No guns here, ehhh that's a big no no! We have to knife them in the back of the neck, or just shot them again. If you were to get caught on a deerhunt in Denmark packin' a piece, they'd take away all your guns and all your licenses.
