Newbie question

Ok, this is only my second year to try turkey hunting.  The turkey population in our county seems like it has at least doubled or tripled since last year.  Still not many hunters around yet.  Yeah for me.

Anyway, here is my question.  I have found 3 pairs of gobblers with hens and jakes.   They have all been in the same fields around 4 oclock in the afternoon the last 5 days.   Are these guys still likely to be there when our season opens in two weeks? 

i am so excited about getting these suckers patterned.  Please someone tell me I am not wasting my time.

I'd guess the toms would be starting to split up in 1-2 weeks, but you never know. Besides, you only need 1 tom around in 2 weeks.  You know the one dragging his beard, full strutting in front of you at 25 yards
With a good  number of hens, though, the toms will still be around.  It's great that you're seeing a consistent pattern this close to season.

yes bro, you have found a pattern. Unless something major happens between now and the start of your season it would be a good place for an ambush. The secret is the hens. They go to the Tom once every day till they sit for good, and once they get used to meetin' him at the same dancehall it will be their routine until something screws them up. Now iffin the coyotes get them patterned before your season, you may have a problem.......otherwise keep you eye on em till opening day, and try and figure out where they enter the field and where they go when they leave. That late in the afternoon tells me they may  not be too far from roost.
