Well perhaps your better off Dave. But if you really want a fight go hang around the classifieds, the way things have been going lately someone will disagree soon. The old days seemed to be more cordial and nicer there, all around more friendly....<><.... :)

Sure does seem to be more dog eat dog than it used to be.... and I have been here since 2002.  People appear to be more cut throat on the classifieds.  I buy and and sell here regularly to have more toys to play with.  The new wears off quickly from some and turn them but anymore I brace myself for the onslaught when i list something for sale.

Hey!  Was it my thread that turned ugly? ???

I cant find it so assume it was.  That's a shame because I think people need to see a bad experience because if I had seen one then maybe I would have been ready for what I've been through instead of all the glowing reports.  I did get word that my gun is in the shipping room.  Dont know when it's coming back, so we'll see.

I don't know if it was one of your posts or not drdoct, there have been a couple that have seemed to go bad lately. In the classifieds there is a post I think we should all see and respond to if you feel so inclined. It is from "RemingtonMagnum", Don to some of us regulars. He feels so badly about a recent bad turn in a classifieds post he wants to leave. I do not think he should. If you get a chance go to the classifieds and read "Quick please" by Remington Magnum. If you feel so led please let Don know how you feel. We should not accept the losing of good members because of hard feelings or deals gone sour....<><....  :(

Every once in awile one will slip though the cracks at H&R and they are not the only ones , i have had to ship Rugers back with live ammo still in them because they would not open to unload them also had a Remington that was broken new in the box . The fact that its in the shipping room is a good sign that they are trying to make things right .

For the most part Handi's are a good , dependable , low cost product and i am sure that once you get it back you will be happy with the way it shoots .

MSP,  Yeah I read all that junk.  There is no reason to turn ugly.  It seems as though there is a whole group of people sowing discontent everywhere there is an anomalous connection.  It's everywhere and has even turned into threats, etc... for people doing uncontroversial stuff.  It's a black spot on the internet IMO.

Stimpy,  I know there are times when everything manufactured does slip through the cracks.  I was trying to share my experience because I'm a first time buyer who bought based on things I saw on this site.  There are lots of glowing reviews about customer service and some not so glowing on H&R's workmanship.  I had a bad experience with both.  My rifle was obviously lost there on the floor or put in the wrong pile because it didnt get done until I called.  I wish I had called earlier now.  I dont think it's a consipracy but I think I've got the worst handi-luck out there.  I want to love my handi.  I was prepared to love my handi and shoot the barrel off it.  Unfortunately it's just turned into a headache.  I'm not bashing the rifle or the company, but just documenting it and how things like this upsets customers.  I guess some people saw this as an opening to bash the handi rifles.  I really dont know what was said because Fred's response was the last I saw around 4pm yesterday.  I would have much rather seen the posts deleted instead of my whole thread and history deleted.  Now it's as if it never happened.

drdoct, I understand your frustration with a defective product and subsequent bad experience with customer service. You have first hand knowledge and experience with both and I appreciate your sharing. I've been fortunate and have had no problems with my rifle and have had very good experiences with customer service.
It's probably not my place, but I do have a problem with an individual that has no first hand knowledge or experience and seemingly visits this site with the sole purpose of bashing the product and services.

Hopefully I'll be getting mine back tomorrow or Friday.  Wont be able to get to the range until Monday or Tuesday and I cant wait.  Heck, it only took me 3 weeks to decide on what to buy so you know I'm anxious after toiling so long.  I don't understand why people go out of their way and lurk just to bash something.  I don't have the time truthfully.  I do have time to check out things I'm interested in and starting crap somewhere just to start it is kinda lame IMHO.

Hi Dave. I am sure that you are a pretty stand up guy. Thats ok and in my bar times I would have have your back and either we or they would walk out with  bloody noses. I myself have after many years of fighting that I was the stupid one. Just because someone says some thing you don't like you have to respond with violece. In this case words. It is all the same. You just want that person to hurt more than you. I think the best thing to do would  be to inore this idiot and I think we all know who he is. This is a type of person that feeds on this type of stuff. This is a great fourm and we really don't need this type of person starting things just to hear the response that they can get. I feel that he is or would be on GB short list if he keeps going on the way he is.

I have been in more bar fights than you could count on your fingers and toes and your 2 best friends fingers and toes.

I went from bar room brawler to bartender and bouncer. Now I'm alot more laid back but I'm still one stubborn puppy when it comes to my opinion.

Maybe one of these days my ammo and bore siter will show up. Then I'll be able to shoot my handi and see wich side of the fence I'm really on. I know it's been good for keeping my hands busy. I open and close the action while I'm vegging out in front of the TV. I figure I'll get a head start on mating the lock to it's ledge :D

I'm with drdoct in thinking that the main body of the thread should have beeen left up for others to see. People do come here to decided weather or not they want to buy a rifle. They should have all the experiances, good and bad, to help them decide. I know I would have changed my mind if I'd had just a little more info. Now I'm going to try to make the best out of a so-so situation.
