Hard to find a used one, I suggest going to a Wal Mart that still sells guns if you can find one or some here mention a chain called "Bi-Mart" and order a new one, most like the best price going....<><.... :)

I missed that one but with your shipping and the FFL fee you would be pretty close to the $140 or even well over that if you lived around me, the cheapest FFL was $40 and may be more than that now. I have heard of them on sale for $129 if I am not mistaken. Search around, the sales are out there. Good luck and let us know if you find one....<><....   :)

thanks for the info guys . by the way is the HMR worth getting over the M2 i thought since its a single shot get the faster one but if the M2 is a heck of lot quieter and cheaper it might be the way to go but i dont know yet ? i just thought of one more atribute with HMR is it might be alot easyer in cold weather to handle . ,superdown

The Mach2 is a bit noisy also, the Mach2 ammo is cheaper than the HMR ammo but it has less effective range than the HMR. My Mach2 is a bit more accurate then my HMR at 50 yards but we are talking 1/10's of inches here, they both make one ragged 1/4 to 1/2" hole with as many bullets as you want to shoot if you do your part, I am talking about 10 to 20 shot groups!!!....<><....  ;D

i know this is the rimfire forum but i was looking at 22 hornet also i just want something that has a small case size smaller than 223  so i can just carry a box of ammo in my pocket was also considering it for reloading in the future. maybe im just getting sidetracked?

Whatever you decide, you'll have to choose rimfire or centerfire, they won't work with the same frame except for the versa pack 22Lr and a few 3 barrel combos they've made or might still offer, but that's looking like may not happen. :'(

I rechambered the HMR I had, took it out a few times but, never saw anything to draw blood with it.
I don't recommend this .17x28mm based on the 5.7 case because of brass being so hard to find. But, that's what I made this one into. It's supposed to be a great shooter once it's finished.

But, I filed too much off the extractor and can't locate a new one. H&R wants the barrel sent so they can 'machine fit' it.  You know what they'd do about that customized barrel if they'd get hold of it. Right Tim?

On this one I used the rimfire barrel, and action from a .410 to get the centerfire.  Fit was perfect, didn't have to touch it up at all.

Trotter rechambered one for a .223 I think, and maybe a hornet sometime back. Was real happy with it.  Might be good if you'd read the sticky's, whole lotta ideas and info there.

Wish you well,

George
