need help
« on: April 04, 2007, 01:39:47 PM »
hey pards
i have a buff that im trying to mount a cabelas lever evolution scope on it
because of the design of the scope allowing a 5inch eye relief even using the high rings the scope still wont clear the hammer
i really want to use this scope on my bc  but really dont want to use anything higher than the high rings ( would prefer the medium rings actually )
is there a way to give the hammer a lower profile ???
im abt to take it to work and grind the hammer down

and while we're at it, whats with that turned up hammer anyways??
now i really like my handis but i dont plan to fan any of em anytime soon

any thoughts, ideas or opinions would be appreciated
thanks

thanks stimp
i found that right after i posted this
i think im gonna go with a set of x-high rings first and if that doesnt fix it then im gonna take the hammer out for a good modification
luckily i work in a machine shop and have access to alot of equipment

i just got thru installing a set of x-tall rings on my buff with the cabelas lever evolution scope
i wonder how much if any it will affect accuracy being so high above the bore axis?
i hate to grind and mess with that hammer
one other thing anyone know a good home remedy for removing that big front sight without beating it to death or spending 130 bucks for a sight pusher
thanks

Use a brass sight drift like the one below.
Measure the dovetail base on each side, usually the left side is slightly bigger, needs to be pushed right to left to remove. Don't slip and whack the hood. I've removed several of em, no damage yet. ;)
