My new cannon arrived!!

Thanks to the help of this forum I was able to find the cannon I was looking for.  My Gunsmoke cannon arrived this Weds.  I couldn't open it up until I came clean with my wonderful wife.  Her comment when I told her last night was "I figured we would have a cannon in the house sometime."  She sure is understanding of these things ;D

I got it put together and ran outside to take some pictures for you guys.  (I even remembered the power can!)  It is quite a step up from my little Brooke firecracker cannon! (also bought with the help of this forum)







It has a 15" barrel and a 1 3/4 bore. Now I have to go find some powder.  All I have is Goex FFg  (can I use 2f in a cannon?)

I will let you know how it shoots.

Way to go Nick    ;D    Congratulations to you on your new Cannon . I hope it brings many years of smiles  and cheers  to your family's New Years and Fourth of July Celebrations ! A worthy investment to be sure !!!

Yes. I have tested 3f in my golf ball mortar. I used one half the amount by weight that I used with cannon grade for the same results. I suggest to start at 60 grains behind a golf ball in your cannon then carefully work from there.

Congrats north nick, Nice looking cannon! I use FF in my golf ball mortar with good results as I too got my mortar from gunsmoke last week, Have fun and lets see some pics with smoke!
