compact and LC6 trigger

Hello,

Just purchased a compact in 708. This is a case where procrastination actually payed off. I've wanted one for several years but couldn't bring myself to buy a $550 rifle with a horrible trigger. I recently heard that the new LC6 triggers on the Hawkeyes were appearing on some Mark lls. I checked it out for myself at a good sized gun shop. Not a rumor. The LC6 is easy to spot. It has a groove running down the backside of the trigger. The back of the old trigger is flat. I dug around and found one and bought it. The trigger is very nice. Its not mentioned in the 2007 catalogue. I imagine Ruger wants to get rid of all the Mark lls with the old trigger before they say anything. Buyer beware. The difference in these triggers is like night and day. Check it out for yourself. Hats off to Ruger for fixing their "trigger problem."

Yup, Have one also and have to agree. Can't undersatand why anyone would want to replace it with a Timney. Evreyone  whose tried mine said it was sweet.

Yep Flathead, its true.

Any M77 MK-II with a 792- prefix or newer is a sure bet to have an LC6 trigger just like the Hawkeye.

In fact, I recently picked up a new MK-II in 6.5 X 55 Swedish Mauser and it has the LC6 trigger. Its serial # is 791-88XXX.

Also agree, hats off to Ruger for fixing the problem rather than just ignoring it, especially on the standard model like mine which Ruger knew they would be discontinuing anyway. They could have easily just let those last few standard models slip right through with the old triggers, but instead they installed the LC6. I think it says alot about the company. That's one of the reasons why they are the best.

I just got a new Hawkeye, the trigger is good, but I'm not that impressed with it.  I have no experience with the old triggers but this one will need work to take the creep out of it and lighten it up a little.

Yah SDS, I would agree it might not be perfect. But...you are lucky you have no experience with the old trigger. It was horrible. The LC6 I have is nice and works fine for hunting.
