Which barrel the 10" 12" or 14" would be the best in the 44. What kind of accuracy should one get at a 100 yards with this caliper. Is the accuracy affected any by the shot barrels when you remove the choke and shoot regular bullets.                                                                                                                          thanks for any info

I don't get very good accuracy from my 6" caliper at a 100 yards! :) The best I could do is 25 feet and I'm not sure if I could be very accurate throwing it :)  :)  :)  :) Just kidding if you are looking at hunting with this barrel I would go with the 12".I did have a 10" Bullberry 44Mag that was very accurate at 100 yards 1.5" to 2" groups all day long.

I have a 10" factory barrel that will shoot 5 shot groups with all touching all day long at 50 yards.  I never have tried it at 100 yards.  I think the 10" is enough barrel unless you just like the longer barrels.  I prefer the shorter and bought mine before they quit making the 10"ers.  I have thought about selling mine since I shoot my 41 mag more, but cannot make myself get rid of a barrel that shoots this good.

Thanks for the info. P J I guess it would be hard to get a good group throwing  calipers. I proof read the next time must have been one of those brain farts.     thanks

Hey I have brain farts too :) No problem it makes good reading  I was thinking I know that's not a good idea but,I would go with a 14".That way if you want more power down the road you can re-chamber it to the 444 Marlin.I have an older 14" 44Mag re-chambered that is just plain fun and accurate as all get out. Then again a 12" won't give up much over the 14".

I have a 10 in factory barrel, with a 2x Leupold. At 50 yards, a three shot group, you can cover it with a quarter. It is great for hunting. I have take 5 deer, with it. 14 in. barrel are to front heavy. I have a 444 in a 10 inch barrel to, it is a handful.
