Any info available on these?
« on: April 09, 2007, 02:22:18 PM »
Hi,
I have a 30 to 35 year old single action .22 I'm trying to find info about.
Anyone ever heard of or seen a "Western Six" .22lr revolver made by a Kimel Industries in North Carolina?
It looks a lot like a Heritage Rough Rider.

Thanks!
Andy

There were a few guns with the name 'Western Six Shooter' in them.  Hawes and Hy Hunter each had a .22.  It was the same gun but imported with different names.  Some pictures would help.  44 Man

Thanks 44 Man,

I checked Numrich's site and found a small frame .22 single action diagram for a Hawes Deputy. It looks like the same diagram and parts list they use for the Rough Rider and the Kimel revolvers.
One thing about this Kimel gun is the markings. On the Rough Rider and other guns there is some information about the gun cast into  both sides of the frame under the cylinder. On this gun there are marks in the frame that look like something was machined off the tooling in those areas. The only mfg marks are on the barrel and a serial number stamped on the bottom of the frame just ahead of the trigger guard.

Thanks!
Andy
