"A glorified 22 mag without the accuracy" seems to be an ill-advised Hog gun. This is a short for caliber bullet & if you grind down the
tip to get a better meplat, you would get a better expander at the expense of even less penetration.
Under feed lot conditions a Hog is indeed VERY easy to kill. I have seen some killed with a 22 at our place as a kid, even a 22 short at times, I think. That has nothing to do with a big Hog working his way through a thicket, I have taken several Hogs in the woods. So, I know the difference. Yea, under many circumstances (but not all & no, I don't think it is a Hog gun either), I could just take my AR & shoot them between the eye & ear. So accuracy will help, but to use a gun that is not accurate & has no power either is better left to point blank shooting at the feed lot.
So, for an all around Hog hunting conditions, why not just use a suitable Rifle or Handgun.
