Another but different press question
« on: May 18, 2003, 03:55:04 PM »
I'm doing black powder .45 .70, smokeless 44 mag and 38 spc.  I won't use a press for the black powder pouring.  Also, I may even get into  rifle cartridge classes that are larger than .45 70.  The problem is that I do not want to use more than one press.  It's between the Redding T-7 Turrent and the Dillon 550B.  What worries me about the 550B is that Dillon gets anal about black powder.  I also did't think that Dillon could handle all rifle cartidges; the .45 .70 was the highest.  I would appreciate any opinions on which one to buy.

I think ether press would work, There was an artical in the spring issue of the Black Powder Cartridge News about using the Dillon 550B for reloading BP catridges. Most BP reloaders prime and pour powder (through the drop tube) as a seperate operation so the Dillon warning about using BP in there powder measure is not a point against the machine.
