go to yard sales!
« on: April 14, 2007, 06:45:39 PM »
i was going to the shop this morning to check on things, about 7:00 a.m, saw a yard sale setting-up, for sum reason went back, older house lots of stuff, saw single barrel shotgun on table, it was a H&R model topper 158, 410 ga. like new, heavy case hard frame, like new gun priced $35.00, i paid the woman for it , she said have three more of those to put out for sale, she bought out a 20ga, 16ga, just like the 410 all as new , the other was a pre 64 model 94 Winchester 30-30 like new rifle, i told the woman the guns were worth more than 35.00 each, i gave her a big TIP, after buying the guns, she was so happy, i could have beat the old woman but did not like somebody would have done, i also bought a tiller and chain saw from her, the ser# on toppers all start with AJ.

That's the reason I tell my wife if I die, to take all of my guns to my father. I have this fear my inlaws would come and take them all and give her $200 for like $5000 worth of guns.

great score. that pre 64 winchester is worth a lot right now. people are giving stupid money for them right now.My grand father recently died and left me a nearly perfect winchester 94, but it is a late 64,missed the cut off by a few serial numbers. It really dosen't matter how much it's worth, because I would never think of selling it.
